Linda Sue Whitt, age 64, of Mayfield, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.

Born on October 14, 1961, in East Chicago, Indiana, Linda was the beloved daughter of Donald and Betty (Sumner) Whitt. She grew up with a kind and giving heart, one that continued to touch everyone who knew her throughout her life.

Linda held a steadfast faith and truly believed in the promise of salvation. She attended Clarks River Baptist Church with her family, where her faith and fellowship brought her great comfort.

A hardworking and dedicated woman, Linda spent many years in the convenience store industry, working for several different chains and even proudly owning her own store - D & L One Stop on Highway 131. For the last seven years, she served in management with Chek Mart, a position she loved and often described as the perfect fit for her.

Linda's heart was never fuller than when she was surrounded by the animals she loved. From horses and donkeys to goats, llamas, cows, squirrels, guineas, fish, and even a raccoon named Casey May, she cared for each one with joy and devotion. Casey May held a special place in her heart and surely welcomed her home in Heaven.

An adventurous spirit, Linda enjoyed horseback riding and barrel racing in her younger years, and she could never resist a good fishing trip - most recently enjoying one more special day by the water with her son.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Donald Whitt, and her beloved daughter, Rolanda Carver.

She leaves behind a lifetime of precious memories to be cherished by her son, Daniel Whitt; granddaughter, Sheako Jones; grandsons, Xavier Jones and Isiah Jones; her loving mother, Betty Sumner; and her dearest friend, Sandra Egner - along with countless others whose lives she touched with her kindness, humor, and love.

A private graveside service will be held at Clarks River Cemetery in Kaler, Kentucky, where she will be laid to rest in peace.

Linda will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her boundless love for animals and family, and her gentle, giving heart that made this world a brighter place.
