Samarah Nashae Elizabeth Smith, age 22, was born on September 19, 2003, in Murray, Kentucky, and passed away on April 26, 2026, in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Samarah lived a vibrant and expressive life, marked by her love for music in all its forms and her unmistakable presence wherever she went. She was truly the life of the party-bringing laughter, energy, and a genuine spirit that drew people close to her. Her joy was contagious, and her authenticity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A creative soul, Samarah found passion in vlogging and social media, especially TikTok, where she honed her craft and took pride in becoming an expert storyteller of her own life. She also found happiness in simple pleasures like walking and dancing, always embracing the rhythm of life with enthusiasm.
Samarah shared an especially close and cherished bond with her mother, whom she considered her best friend. Together, they created lasting memories in the kitchen, experimenting with recipes and sharing laughter over meals they lovingly prepared.
Her greatest transformation came with the birth of her beloved daughter, Zariah "Baby Z," on February 6, 2026. Motherhood became her proudest role, one she embraced wholeheartedly. Samarah poured love into every moment with her daughter, whispering daily affirmations of love and gratitude. She was deeply appreciative of the support from her mother, sisters, and extended village, and she looked forward to building connections with other mothers as she navigated this new chapter of her life.
Samarah was a proud graduate of Murray High School, Class of 2022, where she was actively involved in the Black History Club, including Queen's Court. During her time there, she formed lifelong friendships that she treasured deeply.
She is survived by her precious daughter, Zariah "Baby Z"; her parents, Brandi Shekell, Bobby Smith, and Anthony Cogdell (biological father); her brother, Ethan Shekell; and her sisters, Aleah Smith and Olivia Smith. She also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends who were incredibly dear to her and who will continue to honor her memory.
Samarah's light, laughter, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Though her time here was brief, the impact she made will never be forgotten.
